In May 2026, Odoo 19.3 was released. The PLM module has received a separate set of updates, and some of them address the problems that Ukrainian manufacturing companies face every day: unstable communication, distributed teams, the need to work in conditions of power outages, and synchronize data between sites that may be located in different cities or even countries.
What is a patch release and why is it important when updating
Odoo 19.3 is a patch release within the 19.x line, i.e. the third scheduled update after versions 19.0, 19.1, and 19.2. Patch releases do not change the architecture of the platform: they modify existing modules, eliminate limitations, and extend specific functions. For companies that already use Odoo PLM, this means that the transition to 19.3 does not require reconfiguring established processes.
What has changed directly in PLM
The main focus of the update is to reduce manual operations when transferring changes from design documentation to production orders. Integration of PLM with production and warehouse modules has become tighter: updating specifications is reflected faster in related processes, and version control is tied to warehouse operations.
For Ukrainian companies, where part of the design department may work remotely or from another city, this is especially noticeable: changes in documentation no longer require manual synchronization with production planning through correspondence or calls.
General platform changes related to production
Offline mode. The system now allows you to create, edit, and archive records without a network connection. The only condition is that the recording must be opened online at least once. For venues where power outages or unstable mobile communication are a regular occurrence, this means that the operator records the operation at the time of its execution, rather than postponing it until the connection is restored. The data is synchronized automatically when the connection is restored.
Redesigned labels. Templates for product, batch, and packaging labeling have been redesigned. For companies where labeling is part of component tracking and quality control, this affects the accuracy and speed of operations - especially when working with batches shipped abroad and requiring appropriate clearance.
Mobile interface. Forms on touchscreen devices have been redesigned. Technologists and operators can work with the system directly at the production site without being tied to a stationary workstation, which is important where the staff does not have a dedicated computer at each post.
Odoo localization for Ukraine
In addition to functional changes in PLM, it is important to understand the state of Odoo localization for the Ukrainian market in general. The platform supports work with the hryvnia, VAT under Ukrainian law, and primary documentation in formats accepted in Ukraine. For manufacturing companies that keep records in Odoo, this means that ERP and PLM work in a single environment without the need to duplicate data in external accounting systems.
Companies that consider Odoo as a replacement for 1C should keep in mind that the depth of localization depends on the implementation partner. The basic localization covers tax reporting and primary documents, but specific requirements such as integration with EDRPOU, Prozorro, or industry reporting require separate customization.
ToDo. Gold partner of Odoo in Ukraine and TOP-3 in the official partner rating. Our team has proven experience in implementing Odoo at manufacturing enterprises: from process automation to integration with Ukrainian registries and industry reporting. 80+ specialists on staff - without outsourcing, with immersion in the specifics of each client.
For which companies the update is most relevant
Engineering and manufacturing companies with heavy use of engineering changes and specifications directly benefit from tighter integration of PLM with production planning.
For businesses with a distributed structure - multiple sites, remote teams, contractors - offline mode and improved mobile access solve real operational constraints, not hypothetical scenarios.
Companies that are switching from 1C or other systems to Odoo and want to immediately build PLM processes on the current version of the platform.
Result
Odoo 19.3 closes specific bottlenecks: delays in synchronization between departments, dependence on stable Internet at the site, inconvenience of working from mobile devices. In Ukrainian realities - distributed teams, communication interruptions, the need to quickly adapt production processes - these changes move from the category of «convenient» to «necessary».
