After phasing out Russian software, the business is still looking for an equivalent to the 1C program, and the first thing they hope for is to find a free alternative to 1C. The honest answer is that there are practically no fully-fledged, out-of-the-box free ERP systems on the market. However, there are viable options worth considering as free alternatives to 1C, albeit with certain limitations.
Free, open-source solutions, but with certain limitations and financial commitments
The most famous example is – Odoo. This is a Western ERP system, the basic version of which is available for free for a single user and covers sales, inventory, and finance. However, it’s important to note that while the software itself is free, adapting it to Ukrainian legislation, reporting requirements, and more advanced configurations requires the work of hired developers, which will cost money. In other words, this is not a free alternative to 1C; here, «free» means «no license fee,» not «no costs at all.».
Ukrainian cloud services with a trial period
For sole proprietors and microbusinesses, a full-fledged ERP system is often unnecessary; a simple management or accounting system may be sufficient.
There are services that offer a free trial period during which you don't have to pay anything, and which is long enough to evaluate the convenience of this alternative to 1C.
Among the programs, we recommend considering the following:

- Finmap and Bimp. Management accounting services: tracking cash flows, balances, income, and expenses. They won’t replace full-fledged tax reporting, but they’re great for simply «seeing where the money is.» Free 7-day access is available here
There is no perfect free alternative to 1C that offers the same functionality as 100%, and none is likely to appear in the near future. That is why, for most sole proprietors and small businesses, we recommend considering the following combinations: trial periods for cloud services to get started, plus—if needed—the free version of Odoo with minimal customization.
You should choose a specific tool not based on the «cheapest option» principle, but based on what kind of accounting your business actually needs: management accounting, financial accounting, or a full-fledged ERP system.
