Odoo has released version 19.4. While there are no major new modules, everyday features—AI, accounting, sales, websites, e-commerce, and inventory—have been significantly enhanced.
AI
The big news is support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which standardizes AI interaction with business systems through a single protocol (“Connect Odoo to anything”), eliminating the need for separate integrations for each scenario. The administrator now only needs to select a provider—Odoo automatically selects the model for a specific request. Voice interaction with an AI agent is now available (useful for warehouses and manufacturing). “Topics” have been renamed to “Skills” (the functionality remains the same). In Live Chat, the AI can display interactive record cards, and conversations with the AI are stored for 30 days.
Accounting
The system analyzes the document history and suggests invoice line items (product, account, tax, etc.) without altering manually edited values. Duplicate invoice checking now has two warning levels—red (almost certainly a duplicate) and yellow (requires verification). Auto-Complete has been improved: it now checks existing records before creating a new line item, summarizes the comparison with the purchase order, and provides a separate notification for price/quantity discrepancies. The ability to break down invoice journal lines has been added.
Sales
You can create order lines without a product (text only)—the "Mandatory Product" option can be enabled. You can edit the margin directly in the line—the price is recalculated automatically. Commission calculations have been expanded: sellers’ performance can now be factored into managers’ compensation. Support for commercial proposal templates has been added.
Website
The Setup Wizard uses AI to suggest positioning based on business type. Themes, templates, and the image library have been updated. Structured data is now automatically added to pages for better SEO.
E-commerce and Warehousing
Donations (one-time and subscription) and self-service returns are now available in the store. In the inventory section, you can view stock levels for a specific time (while retaining filters), and HS codes are now set separately for each product variant.
For Ukrainian companies
There are few localization changes. However, line item forecasting, duplicate checking, and reconciliation with purchases are useful when migrating from 1C/BAS. MCP paves the way for AI integrations, but requires special attention to data security. Voice AI will be useful for manufacturing and logistics, and the updated inventory module will benefit companies involved in exports.
