The increasing complexity and diversity of business processes is a reality for all modern entrepreneurs. And accordingly, the need for modern automation tools is inevitably growing. One of the promising systems in this area is the Belgian ERP-class system - Odoo, of which we are an official partner.
What is Odoo?
Odoo is an ERP system of Belgian origin, created by Fabian Pinkars back in 2005, but originally called Tiny ERP, then changed its name to OpenERP. You can learn more about what ERP systems are and what they are used for from of this article.
Since 2014, the software, written in Python, has been renamed Odoo, a name that has stuck to this day. The system combines many functions designed to increase the efficiency of enterprises by updating and optimizing business processes.
What is very interesting is the fact that the system is built on a modular structure – this allows you to flexibly customize it to your needs. So, yes, Odoo is a fairly versatile tool. That is why it is popular among Western entrepreneurs.
Here, for example, statistics Odoo usage in the world from BuiltWith, where we can clearly see that the popularity of this ERP is growing rapidly.

Why are we implementing this particular system?
One of the main reasons why we decided to implement Odoo is its potential and functionality.
The system has been on the market for quite some time. During this time, it has undergone many modifications and improvements, so as of now it is a full-fledged, competitive, multifunctional product that continues to improve and does not stand still. Of course, another reason follows from this - reputation.
During such a long period of its existence, Odoo has managed to earn a good reputation among many enterprises around the world, as evidenced by such publications as Forbes, for statistics from Software Advice Odoo received 4.2 points out of five. We will also add statistical data from G2 and Gartner.

Another reason that pushed us to implement Odoo was Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022. This event affected the course of a huge number of processes in the country, and business was not left aside. Many faced the question of switching from sanctioned Russian software to an alternative one. However, as it turned out, finding a worthy replacement quite quickly is a rather difficult task.
At that time, we had already implemented Odoo, so we knew perfectly well how to work with it and how to adapt it to the needs of a particular client. So we got down to work and started bringing Odoo to the masses. In this way, we encouraged the main need of the time - the rejection of the outdated, inconvenient, Russian and the transition to the modern, Western, optimized.
Main advantages of Odoo compared to other automation systems
There are 8 key benefits to highlight:
- Complexity – a single system for many tasks that allows you to get rid of the “program zoo”.
- Flexibility – an open source Python system that allows you to easily and quickly modify it if necessary.
- Prevalence – according to official Odoo statistics, the system has over 7 million users and over 1,900 partner integrators in more than 120 countries around the world.
- Modularity – you can implement only those modules that you plan to use, in any order.
- Multifunctionality – the system has a significant number of modules that allow you to automate almost all business processes in the enterprise. Even chatting and document discussion in one system.
- Accessibility – there are several versions of the system for different budgets: Community (free) and Enterprise (paid). The cost depends on the number of users and the functionality of the system.
- Competitiveness – the functionality successfully competes with other large systems: SAP, Microsoft, Terrasoft, etc., and the price is lower.
- Localization – availability of ready-made modules and integrations for business needs in different countries. There are already many integrations developed for the needs of Ukrainian companies: messengers, Nova Poshta, banking, etc.
